Background of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila

Nomination: There are several opinions about nomination of Laxmipur Sadar upazila. But Laxmipur Sadar Upazila is named after a mouza named Laxmipur. Laxmipur village of Dalal Bazar union of Sadar upazila no 3 In this village a Hindu zamindar named Gourkishore received the title of king in 1765. His predecessor Laxminarayan was a resident of Chandpur. He came here to settle down and settled. Gaurikishore wrote a mouza in his own name with a lot of English words. Since then, its name is Lakshmipur Mouza.

 

Geography: It is well known that part of ancient Samatata is today's Laxmipur district. It is found in the description of the famous migratory hunter, HN Chawang, about the ancient Samatata: Tripura state Garo Hills and Khasiaparvata, Brahmaputra river on the west, Bay of Bengal on the south. From Comtok to present Comilla, parts of Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali and Laxmipur Samatata areas.
